This Privacy Policy describes how Muicci ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Cüe application ("Software") and the website located at cue.app ("Website"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. Cüe is designed with a privacy-first architecture: the Software collects no personal data, and all speech and audio processing occurs entirely on your device. By using the Software or visiting the Website, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Cüe is built with your privacy as a core principle. The Software does not collect, store, transmit, or process any of the following: (a) voice recordings or audio data; (b) speech transcriptions or recognized text; (c) scripts, notes, or teleprompter content you input into the Software; (d) camera feeds, images, or video data; (e) personal identifying information (name, email, address, phone number); (f) device identifiers, hardware serial numbers, or unique device IDs; (g) usage patterns, session data, or behavioral analytics within the Software; (h) location data or IP addresses via the Software; (i) contacts, calendar data, or any other data from your device. All speech recognition is performed entirely on-device using Apple's built-in speech recognition framework. No audio, text, or other data from your use of the Software ever leaves your device or is sent to any server operated by us or any third party.

The Software requests the following macOS permissions solely for its core functionality:

Microphone Access: Required for on-device speech recognition. Audio data captured by the microphone is processed locally by Apple's speech recognition framework and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted off-device.

Camera Access: Required for the optional camera preview feature within the teleprompter. Camera data is displayed locally only and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted off-device.

You may revoke these permissions at any time via macOS System Settings. Revoking permissions may reduce the functionality of the Software. The Developer assumes no liability for reduced functionality due to revoked permissions.

Our Website at cue.app uses Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly, anonymous analytics service. Vercel Analytics collects aggregated, non-identifiable data such as page views, referral sources, browser type, and operating system. This data: (a) does not use cookies; (b) does not collect personal information; (c) cannot be used to identify individual visitors; (d) is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes; and (e) is used solely to understand general Website traffic patterns and improve the Website experience. No tracking occurs within the Cüe application itself.

All purchases are processed by Polar Software Inc., which serves as our Merchant of Record. When you make a purchase, Polar Software Inc. collects and processes your payment information (such as credit card details, billing address, and email address) directly. We (Muicci) do not receive, store, or have access to your full payment card details. We may receive limited transaction information from Polar (such as your email address and a transaction identifier) solely for the purpose of license fulfillment and customer support. Your software license is managed through the Polar.sh platform. When you activate your license, the Software communicates with the Polar.sh licensing server to validate your License Key. This validation process transmits only the License Key itself and does not include personal data, device identifiers, or usage information beyond what is strictly necessary for license activation and verification.

Cüe features a "Founder's Wall" (also referred to as the "Believer's Wall") that publicly displays the names and optional social media links of early supporters and purchasers. If your name and/or social link appear on the Founder's Wall, it is because you provided this information during the checkout process and consented to its public display. Participation is voluntary. The information displayed is limited to: (a) the name or alias you provided; and (b) any social media link you optionally submitted. This information is displayed publicly on the Website and/or within the Software. If you wish to have your name or link removed from the Founder's Wall, or if you wish to update the displayed information, please contact us at support@cue.app and we will process your request within a reasonable timeframe.

Since Cüe does not collect personal data through the Software, there is no personal data stored on our servers from your use of the application. All user content (scripts, teleprompter text, settings, preferences) is stored locally on your device only. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect our Website and infrastructure. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of any data transmitted to us via the Website or Polar's payment platform.

Our ecosystem involves the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:

Polar Software Inc.: Payment processing and license management. Refer to Polar's privacy policy for details on how they handle your transaction and account data.

Vercel: Website hosting and anonymous analytics. Vercel processes standard web server logs and anonymous analytics data.

Apple: The Software uses Apple's on-device speech recognition APIs. Apple's processing occurs locally on your Mac and is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party service. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of each third-party service you interact with.

The Software and Website are not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the Software does not collect personal data at all, this concern is inherently mitigated. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information through other means (e.g., via email correspondence), please contact us at support@cue.app so we can take appropriate action.

The Software is available to users worldwide. Since Cüe does not collect personal data through the application, there is no cross-border transfer of personal data from your use of the Software. For Website analytics and payment processing, data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your own. By using the Website and making a purchase, you consent to the processing of any limited data (such as your email for license fulfillment) in the jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because Cüe does not collect personal data through the Software, most of these rights are not applicable to your use of the application. For any data held by Polar Software Inc. in connection with your purchase, please contact Polar directly. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting personal information we hold (limited to information received from Polar for license fulfillment or Founder's Wall submissions), we will notify affected users in accordance with applicable laws and take prompt steps to mitigate the impact. Since no personal data is collected or stored through the Software itself, the risk of a data breach affecting your application usage data is effectively zero.

The Cüe Website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. Vercel Analytics operates without cookies. Essential cookies may be used by our hosting provider for basic website functionality (such as load balancing), but these do not track you or collect personal information. The Software itself does not use cookies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Software or Website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If we make material changes that significantly affect your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users (such as posting a notice on the Website).

While we have designed Cüe with privacy as a core principle and do not intentionally collect personal data, the Developer makes no absolute guarantees regarding privacy in connection with third-party services (Polar, Vercel, Apple) that you may interact with. The Developer shall not be liable for any privacy practices, data breaches, or data handling by third-party services. Your use of the Software and Website is subject to our Terms and Conditions, including all disclaimers and limitations of liability stated therein.
